Vopak NextGen Leaders Program

Vopak NextGen Leaders Program aims to develop Vopak's next generation's leaders from today. Through this two-year (on-average) program, we will take you on a journey into the world of tank storage giving you the opportunity to obtain invaluable knowledge about our company and our core business alongside our sustainability and innovation initiatives. You will work on real business challenges from the start and gain hands-on experience within your preferred function and across the organization. At the moment, we provide opportunities within the following disciplines/functions:
 

  • Commercial/Business Development

  • Operations

  • Technical

  • Safety, Health, Environment, & Quality (SHEQ) 

  • Finance

You will be engaged in a continuous learning process throughout the whole program, not only ‘learning by doing' but also through formal training opportunities, including personal development courses for you to be able to discover your strengths. You will have a solid network around, as you will be assigned a senior leader as a mentor, be exposed to upper management and be a part of a peer network including other management trainees and young professionals. 

The possible start dates for the program are November 2022 and January 2023. The work location is in the region of Rotterdam, however, we also have terminals in Vlissingen & Vlaardingen in the Netherlands. Note that an international assignment might be part of the program.

Once you complete the program, you can find your long-term place at Vopak based on your interests - there are always numerous opportunities available globally. 

Your qualifications and skills
Our program is suitable for (soon to be) graduates with a Master's degree in various specializations and studies preferably with a background in Engineering (Sustainable Energy Technology/Energy Sciences/Civil/Mechanical/E&I), Economics, Econometrics, Business Administration, Finance and IT.

  • University (WO) Master's degree graduates or students at the final stage of their studies (completion of master's thesis)

  • Maximum of 2 years of work experience;

  • Excellent Dutch and English languages skills (at least B2 level);

  • Full time available per November 2022 or January 2023;

  • Having an entrepreneurial mindset and eagerness to learn; being innovative, a critical thinker and go-getter.
     

It is essential that you also possess certain characteristics such as international sensitivity, persuasiveness, and optimism. You are persistent in the achievement of whatever you set your mind to, and you are not intimidated by challenges, you rather see them as opportunities. At the same time, you are able to be open and honest about your weaknesses and that you are able to own up to your mistakes. In other words, you are capable of pursuing your vision with a certain degree of straightforwardness, creativity and entrepreneurship. 

Please note that prerequisites to be eligible for the Vopak NextGen Leaders Program, you must have completed a master's degree, have graduated before your start date at Vopak and be residing in the Netherlands.
