As a part of a global team, our Network Projects Team supports all Global and Local Infrastructure projects worldwide. The team currently consists of 6 project engineers located in the headquarters in Rotterdam and several part time project engineers in regions Americas, Asia and Middle East and China. 
The network projects team works closely together with security, operations and architects to translate requirements, policies and standards into detailed implementation designs and support the execution of the projects and handover to operational support. Projects vary from complete greenfield builds of LAN/WAN/Security for new locations and small projects like expansions, life cycle projects, innovation projects, etc.

The projects team is responsible for delivering high quality standards, within budget and planning, offering well skills and experienced engineers on technologies LAN, WAN, Security, VPN, Remote Access, Wifi, PKI, NAC and OT networking.

Globally we support many interesting and sometimes challenging projects, in an environment that is ever evolving and growing.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is familiar and able to execute assigned projects in a timely manner within budget and matches the following profile:

• Demonstrable (minimally 5 year) experience with professional support and projects in a business-critical and preferable international/global LAN & WAN infrastructure.

• Expert-level experience with network & telecom (LAN/WAN, Wireless LAN, Firewalls, IPSec) is essential (experience with Cisco at CCNA level is a pre, NSE4/NSE7 certification is a pre)

• Good level of expertise on security (firewalling, NAC & PKI

• Good administration, documenting and network drawing skills

• Motivated to initiate and participate in a team-effort to assess the network infrastructure: actively suggesting technical & support improvements.

• Comfortable working both on your own, and in cooperation (technically and functionally) with the windows, unix, database, and application support-teams.

• Interested in improving project-involvement and plan-based working

• A strong common-sense approach to IT-support & IT-projects.

• Familiar with ITIL, project management and IT-security concepts.

• Enthusiastic team-member, capable of working in (sometimes) stressful and under pressure conditions.

• Fluent in English and Dutch

• VCA certified or willing to get VCA

Tasks & responsibilities:

• Create detailed design fulfilling requirements, based on Vopak standards and policies

• Participate in a global operating team, sometimes need to travel

• Lead engineer in assigned projects for approved projects

• Align with architects for design questions

• Assyst operations team for complex troubleshooting

• Collaborate on centralised documentation of standards

• Implementation/installation of infrastructure solution on-site or remote

• Configuration Templates developments

• Creating Detailed configuration files

• Updating documentation (google maps, visio drawings, fiber layouts in netterrain) 

• Handover to support for completed projects

• Analyze and improve security policies on the firewalls using central management

• Upgrade firewalls, switches and other network devices

• Willing to travel (not often, but if needed typically 2 weeks)
