The BI Consultant is an intermediary between business colleagues and the Data & Analytics development teams supporting the business in better decision making by translating the information needs into solution designs. The challenge is in aligning the data from the source systems to provide a consistent and complete view of historic, current and predictive business operations.

The BI Consultant plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of the enterprise data and management reports based on it. It requires both broad knowledge of the Vopak application landscape as well as specialist IT skills.

Requirements:

• Overall 5 years, 3 years in business intelligence

• Higher vocational level - IT

• Communication in an international environment

• Experience with Data Modeling (Data Vault, Dimensional)

• Experience with multiple BI tools, preferably Qlik Sense

• Experience with Metadata Management, Data Virtualization tooling and Snowflake is a plus

• Experience with Agile scrum methodology

• Competences: Market know-how, Teamplayer, Ownership

Tasks & responsibilities:

• Define and maintain descriptions of source data. Advice and support the business with regard to Metadata Management and architecture of reporting and Business Intelligence. 

• Identify opportunities for service improvement. Act as internal coordinator for execution of service improvement plans.

• Coordinate day-to-day design, configuration and development activities and act as sparring partner to developers.

• Ensure delivery of changes in time, within budget and to the required quality, also taking into account the Service Level Agreements applicable for the service. Safeguard process quality and planning of epics.

• Ensure operational continuity and quality of deliverables of the Data &  Analytics development teams through testing. Plan, organize and perform the functional acceptance test of new epics, including functional integration testing. Facilitate user acceptance testing of new epics by the business.

• 3rd level support: Provide 3rd level support on incidents and act as problem manager.
