What will you do as a Global Technical Expert Cryogenic Facilities?

As Global Technical Expert Cryogenic Facilities you will guide, review and approve the technical solutions related to cryogenic gas facilities. You will provide the necessary technical support on design, choice of material and equipment, constructability and lifecycle management. While doing so, you keep Vopak's standards in view and comply with the local regulatory requirements and international standards. The job involves both new build and repair/replacement of the existing components of a cryogenic gas facility in a cost effective and fit-for-purpose manner.

What does your day look like?

• Physically and virtually talking to the colleagues from global departments and Business Units on topics of mutual interest in a formal meeting or informal direct one-on-one calls 

• Review proposals for a new project, inspection, maintenance, repair or replacement of a component of a refrigerated gas facility

• Monitoring and tracking progress on approved plans for inspection & maintenance 

• Peer and technical reviews of new projects 

• Review and revision of global standards, guidelines, templates, blueprints, typicals,  specifications etc

• Developing new tools, performance measurement dashboard, templates, standard, specification etc

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide prompt support in guiding, reviewing and approving the development of design and construction of cryogenic facilities at Vopak terminals. 

• Review and approve the technical solutions related to; design, construction and lifecycle maintenance of cryogenic double walled tanks, pumps, compressors, piping and other equipment. 

• Provide support in setting up the preventive and corrective maintenance programs related to cryogenic storage terminals.

• Review, align & support the project scoping & estimating related to cryogenic facilities within the 3YMP.

• Keep updated with the leading international standards and develop / maintain Vopak standards and toolkits in line with the international standards and legislations in major Vopak countries.

• Create and maintain an active community of SMEs or people involved / responsible for the works related to cryogenic facilities at Business Units to share knowledge and experience. 

What do we expect from you as a Global Technical Expert Cryogenic Facilities?

• MSc / BSc degree (chemical / mechanical engineering).

• 5 years of experience in a similar position within the industry or 10+ years of relevant experience.

• Knowledge of double walled refrigerated tanks, in-tank pumps and BoG compressors.

• Prefer to have experience in conceptual & detailed design, construction solutions and asset condition inspections / repairs.

• Stakeholder management; proactive networking, ability to inspire, influence & develop people.

• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
