Global Product Manager - Hydrogen (LOHC and LH2)
Accelerate and join the New Energies team and contribute to the strategy of introducing new vital products at Vopak! As Global Product Manager, you are responsible for building, developing and guiding the growth of the Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers (LOHC) and Liquid Hydrogen (LH2) business in Vopak. The focus of the role is to develop and deploy the strategy for LOHC and LH2 within the global Vopak network in close cooperation with the local and regional business development teams. Business development activities vary from translating a view on future technologies and market trends into an execution strategy, identifying energy transition leads and projects to improving/expanding existing terminals and developing and marketing new business concepts. The Global Product Manager reports to the Global Director New Energies.

As Global Product Manager you will be responsible for developing and executing the strategy around LOHC and LH2 solutions. With your genuine interest in growth and energy transition and with affinity for technical solutions, you will create a basis to position Vopak for new opportunities. You will work with the different Vopak locations around the globe and our global accounts and partners to accelerate Vopak’s growth ambitions. You will use your network, knowledge, insights, vision and skills, and you will develop initiatives to improve our organization and initiate projects. Contribute to the development of the Accelerate strategy by developing and executing the program of the Hydrogen pillar of the New Energies portfolio;
Identify strategic growth areas and set global long term development targets;
Develop business cases, connect with senior level customers, structure new value chains and accomplish agreements with partners;
Early signal & select projects based on local leads and strategic positioning;
Provide early assessment of local business development projects against the global strategy and support local teams in the development of investment proposals;
Signal, understand and act on new technologies with an impact in broad supply chains, develop proposals for Vopak Ventures;
Build an internal global team and develop external long lasting relations with stakeholders;
Identify, evaluate and compare business opportunities, partnerships, customers and preferred locations;
Define, write and evaluate investment proposals in line with Vopak Project Management.
Who are we looking for?
As the ideal candidate, you have a technical orientation, a proven track record in business development and genuine interest and ability to position Vopak in the energy transition. You have the ability to develop and deploy a business strategy. You are a self-starter and persevering, with excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Your networking skills are essential to successfully handle social as well as business interactions with various stakeholders.
You also have:
A Master's degree in Engineering, Economics or equivalent;
Minimum of 10 years relevant international work experience in general, technical, business development and/or technical sales management in relevant industries;
Understanding of value chains and product flows at a key position in the industry and energy transition platforms;
Understanding of financial (project) constructions, deal structures and development of business cases.
Insight in market circumstances, including customer and competitor information in the industries;
Affinity with the technical aspects and engineering process of large capital projects;
Project management knowledge and skills;
Knowledge of company offerings, contracts, investment guidelines, services and company policies, rules, regulations and procedures;
Full professional proficiency in English.
