What will you do as a BU NL Director Sourcing & Procurement ?

‘You’ll lead, inspire and develop the BU NL sourcing & procurement team, and with this team you have a significant impact on our growth as well as cost savings program for the coming years. With your passion in standardizing and innovating processes and sharing knowledge of common procurement categories within the teams you realize our next step in creating added value to our business.

What do we expect from you as a BU NL Director Sourcing & Procurement ?

• A Master’s degree in Business, or related relevant other discipline;

• 10+ years of terminal experience or experience in a related industry or contracting environment;

• Experience with service categories and contracting management and/or a background in the Chemical / Oil & Gas Industry;

• Excellent stakeholder management on various levels, excellent leadership & change management skills, strong in directing performance and realizing agreed targets, entrepreneur;

• Excellent oral and written skills in both Dutch and English.

What does your day look like?

As BU NL Director Sourcing & Procurement , you will lead our sourcing & procurement team.You will create, sustain and develop a network of suppliers within the BU NL for the specific categories, sustaining capex portfolios and major projects. You’ll implement a clear strategy on purchasing all related products & services. You will take the lead, make decisions and are recognized as an authority in your area of expertise. With a focused vision on reducing the total cost of ownership you contribute to excellent safety, service and quality. All of this will relate to strong teamwork within your functional area and to good stakeholder management with colleagues in BU NL.The total annual spend of the region is 300-400 million euro.

Your core responsibilities are:

• all purchasing within BU NL is done with the highest standards on professional ethics;

• develop, implement and track Terminal Procurement Plans for all terminals in the BU NL;

• track and analyze the added value of the S&P function per terminal and adapt own organization accordingly;

• personal (leadership) development and skill development (via the Vopak Procurement Academy) of all your team members;

• cover the maximum Opex / Capex spend via contracts that do support in reducing total cost of ownership;

• category management for the major categories (e.g. mechanical, tank maintenance and tank cleaning) across BU NL is professionally organized and leverages on best practices and knowledge;

• contracting and contract management for sustaining, medium and major projects across the BU NL is professionally organized;

• all vendor contracts are managed and evaluated in line with the specifications of the Procurement Policies and principles to create sustainable and reliable supplier relations;

• the claims management process and support within the BU NL is professionally organized;

• performance of vendors is measured, and managed to optimal levels;

• partnerships are developed with selected (critical) suppliers that do support the goals of reducing TCO and/or create additional business value;

• execute and be part of our sustainability agenda when it come to our suppliers on topics such as reducing Scope 3 emissions, Human Rights, etc
