You are responsible for initiating, developing and guiding the growth projects across the Vopak Botlek Terminals with special focus on the circular chemical economy and energy transition. Next to that you will be responsible for strategic key-accounts with growth and expansion opportunities. The Business Development Manager reports to the Commercial Manager Vopak Rotterdam Botlek Terminals.

How will you do this?
With your genuine interest in profitable growth and market development you will create a basis to position Vopak for new opportunities. You will use your strategic and conceptual thinking in contractual negotiations to further grow the profit of our organization. As an entrepreneur you see opportunities instead of threats. Your job in bullet points
Select & Develop projects from early development phase to final investment decision;
Manage and grow existing accounts in line or above plan;
Continuously search for ways to improve profit;
Maintain and build on a network to grow in both new and existing business area's;
Contribute to development new business strategies (Terminal Master Plan) and execute according to plan;
Manage in- and external stakeholders during growth projects and contract (re)negotiations;
Define and write investment proposals in line with Vopak Project Management.
Speaking Dutch is a plus.
Who are we looking for:
Are you looking for a nice balance between longer term business development projects and shorter term sales success? Are you having a genuine interest in market development and offering infrastructural solutions to the customer? Are you a conceptual and strategic thinker always looking for ways to maximize profit?
Are you interested and also have:
A Master's degree in Economics, Engineering, or equivalent working experience;
Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in general, operations and/or sales management in relevant industries;
Understanding of value chains and product flows at a key position in the chemical industry and energy transition platforms;
Insight in market circumstances, including customer and competitor information in the industries;
Experience in contract negotiations
Project management knowledge and skills;
Knowledge of company offerings, contracts, investment guidelines, services and company policies, rules, regulations and procedures;
Understanding of financial (project) constructions, deal structures and development of business cases.
